Drug Uses
Microzide is used for the treatment of edema and for high blood pressure.
It is listed under Women's Health in the Discount Meds USA Pharmacy for its
ability to control the swelling associated with some female problems.
How Taken
It it recommended that you take Microzide early in the day. Take this medicine
with milk or food to reduce the risk stomach pain.
Warnings/Precautions
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially about: gout, diabetes,
liver problems, urinary problems, any allergies. Microzide contains
hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) which is a sulfa drug. Do not take if you have
a sulfa or sulfite allergy.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time
for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
Do not double the dose to catch up.
Possible Side Effects
Some of the side effects that may occur while taking Microzide include: black,
tarry stools; blood in urine or stools; cough or hoarseness; fever or chills;
joint pain; lower back or side pain; painful or difficult urination; pinpoint
red spots on skin; skin rash or hives; stomach pain with nausea and vomiting;
unusual bleeding or bruising; yellow eyes or skin. If you experience bothersome
side effects, stop taking Microzide and contact your doctor or local pharmacist.
Overdose
If overdose is suspected, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of overdose
may include unconsciousness, nausea/vomiting, weakness, slow or shallow
breathing, dizziness, confusion, unusually slow heartbeat, seizures, drowsiness,
or fainting.
More Information
Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous
activities. Detrol may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision. If
you experience dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision, avoid these activities.
