Drug Uses
Cleocin T (clindamycin) is used to treat acne vulgaris.
How Taken
Apply a thin film of Cleocin T twice daily to affected area.
Warnings/Precautions
It is not known whether clindamycin is excreted in human milk following use
of Cleocin T. However, orally and parenterally administered clindamycin has
been reported to appear in breast milk.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time
of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
Do not double the dose to catch up.
Possible Side Effects
Orally and parenterally administered Cleocin T has been associated with severe
colitis which may end fatally. Abdominal pain and gastrointestinal disturbances
as well as gram-negative folliculitis have also been reported in association
with the use of topical formulations of clindamycin.
Overdose
Topically applied Cleocin T can be absorbed in sufficient amounts to produce
systemic effects. Seek emergency medical attention if an overdose is suspected.
More Information
Use caution when taking Cleocin T together with neuromuscular blocking agents.
