Suggestions for Additional Activities
1. Choose a word with one of the vowel forms (ai, ea, oa, aw). Say the word and hear the sounds. Make new words that rhyme with the final sound. For instance, if you choose nail, rhyming words would include bail, hail, jail and mail. Notice that these words rhyme with other long "a" words that are spelled another way. Think about bail and bale. You can "bail out of a plane" and you can "bale hay on a farm". Or, you can "mail a letter to a friend" or "shake hands with a male".
