Suggestions for Additional Activities
1. Choose a word with one of the vowel combination forms (ee, ay, cow, slow,
ew). Say the word and hear the sounds. Make new words that rhyme
with the final sound. For instance, if you choose sheep, rhyming words
would include beep, creep, deep, heep. Notice that you can use alphabetic
order to help build new words. Just drop the beginning sound and substitute
with the sounds of a,b,c,d and so on. Some of these new words will
make sense and some won't.
